Your photos

When you use a try-on or the hair type analyzer, the photo you choose is resized in your browser and sent to our servers only to create your result. We do not save your photo or your result to our own storage, and we never use them to train AI models.

To create the result, your photo is processed by our AI providers. Hairstyle and color previews are generated by Replicate, which automatically deletes the inputs and outputs of each request after about one hour. Hair type analysis is handled by an AI language model provider that processes the photo to return a text description.

Before your photo leaves your device it is re-encoded, which removes embedded location and camera data.

What we keep

• A daily usage count, so free try-ons stay free. It's stored against a device identifier generated in your browser and a one-way hash of your IP address, not your name or email, and only for the current day's count.
• Standard server logs (time, page, error messages) kept for a short time to keep the service running.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages people visit and whether a try-on finished. It may set cookies. It receives the style you picked and whether the try-on worked, never your photo, your result, or the device identifier used for free-use counts. In the EU, UK and Switzerland, analytics cookies are off by default and only anonymous, cookieless measurements are sent. You can block these cookies in your browser without affecting the tool.

What we don't do

• We don't require an account, and we don't ask for your name or email.
• We don't sell your data, and we don't use advertising cookies.
• We don't use face recognition to identify you.

Children

SnipMirror is not intended for children under 13, and we ask that they don't upload photos.
